Minnesota House Treatment Options

The longer the patient stays in treatment the more success they can expect

Individuals progress through drug addiction treatment at various rates, so there is no predetermined length of treatment. However, research has shown that the longer the patient stays in treatment the more success they can expect.

European standards suggest that less than 90 days of addiction treatment may not be effective for achieving long-term recovery. The European Society of Addiction Medicine (ESAM) recommends a minimum of 3 months (90 days) of treatment for optimal outcomes. This is because addiction is a complex condition that requires adequate time for physical, psychological, and social recovery. Shorter treatment durations may not allow for sufficient progress and may increase the risk of relapse.
